About P.S. 154
P.S. 154 is located in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx. We service students in Pre-Kindergarten – 5th grade. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and speak an array of languages, including Spanish, Arabic, French, and various African dialects.
At P.S. 154, we work together as a whole community to promote peace and kindness; high achievement in academic, artistic, and extracurricular areas; healthy living, and a responsibility to one’s self and community.
Our Shared Vision
P.S. 154 is a community of caring adults and children. We aspire to maintain a joyful, safe, and academically challenging school where learning occurs through meaningful experiences and students are encouraged to be creative, thoughtful, critical, and independent. We seek a community where collaboration, honesty, cohesiveness, and optimism abound, high expectations are maintained by and for all, and new challenges are faced with grace.
Our Mission Statement
P.S. 154 is a Caring, Accountable, Ready-to-Learn environment that is Safe for all. We aim to give all students the academic, social, and emotional foundations they will need to be highly successful in high school and college as well as to positively impact their communities.
Our School Mascot
P.S. 154’s mascot is the wolf. Students selected this mascot during the 2012 – 2013 school year. They believed that the wolf’s tenacity and tendency to work together as a pack represented our community’s drive to be the best we can be and commitment to support each other as we grow and learn together.
